About the Role

We are looking for a Milling Team Lead to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. You will lead a team of 8 working with nesting software and operating mills. We are looking for a Leader to hold a key role advocating the day to day work with management. You will be responsible for managing technicians, operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment to ensure that orders are fabricated at the highest quality standards per customer deadlines. What You'll Do

  • Operate Quickly: Directly operate and maintain multiple milling machines such as the Arum 5x500’s 5x200’s AG Motion 2’s and Progamill PM7’s in a fast-paced environment

  • Drive Improvements: Serve as the go-to individual with firsthand insights on workflow, equipment, and capacity improvement opportunities to help drive high quality products. Willing to take on new challenges and tasks to help improve the department.

  • Problem Solve: Roll up your sleeves to quickly troubleshoot and solve process, equipment and/or technology issues as you operate within a large scale and fast paced dental lab. Drive solutions and communicate with surrounding shift leads and those affected by process changes.

  • Quality Adherence: Uphold strict manufacturing quality standards (e.g., equipment maintenance and repair) and lead by example. High quality is key to efficient scalability!

  • Collaborate: Work with other team members to identify and quickly address bottlenecks

  • Management: Lead Milling technicians working on the night shift to ensure that all the orders are processed (nested and milled) as they come in, following a first in first out processes. Help shorten turnaround time and increase throughput. Responsible for maintaining, cleaning or repairing mills in the department. Willing to be flexible with hours to help out with other shifts to execute improvements and communicate with other shift leads. Help support areas such as flow management, cleaning and maintaining mills, troubleshooting and repairing mills. As well be able to calibrate mills and communicate with Axsys mill support to escalate issues more effectively.

  • Data Collection: Prepare reports & collect data for day-to-day tasks that may be used to monitor and measure success. Help gather information to refine or improve the manufacturing process. Communicate with previous and following shifts to inform Night shift on changes or improvements needed.

  • Training: Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a mentor to train new & existing team members.

  • Cross Training: May be required to cross-train on multiple departments as needed

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment with tight deadlines

  • Worked with Roland Mills, Arum 5x500 and 5x200s, AG Motion2’s Progamill PM7s.

  • Experience with wet and dry mills

  • Worked in a dental lab, specifically in a milling and/or nesting department

  • Deep knowledge with different nesting softwares, specifically hyperDent

  • Part of a nesting / milling department with 30+ mills before

  • Nested / milled both generic and authentic custom titanium abutments in-house

  • Passion for tackling problems and breaking them down into smaller manageable steps

  • High level of comfort with digital tools and technology

  • Very high attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Team player attitude and willingness to help others to help the team exceed expectations

  • Strong ability to maintain a clean work area and keep equipment, tools, and supplies clean to avoid contamination with foreign material

  • Strong self-motivation, self-direction, and ability to prioritize

  • Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Relentlessly positive attitude, strong sense of humor, and the ability to have fun at work
