About the Role
Dandy is hiring an IT Manager to lead our IT operations in our Cairo, Egypt office as part of our rapidly growing venture-backed company. The IT Department owns all technology needs for Dandy, and in this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring the regional IT team.
You will oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, service delivery, and support for our international offices (primarily Egypt and South Africa), ensuring alignment with global IT standards and business objectives. What You'll Do
Spearhead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of a new, high-caliber IT support team for the Cairo office.
Lead, mentor, and develop the local IT team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee all local IT operations, including infrastructure (network, servers), end-user computing, and service desk support, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Act as the primary IT business partner for Cairo leadership, understanding local needs and translating them into effective technical solutions.
Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets for the Cairo office, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Develop and implement local IT policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with global IT strategy and security standards.
Manage local vendor relationships (e.g., ISPs, hardware/software suppliers) to ensure service levels and cost-effectiveness.
Lead local IT projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
Oversee the management of user accounts and access controls, including Active Directory, Google Workspace, and other authentication mechanisms.
Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for complex, escalated issues (acting as a "player-coach").
Ensure all IT systems are monitored for performance and security, and lead incident response efforts for the Cairo office.
Manage and participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response.
What We're Looking For
5-7+ years of progressive experience in an IT role, with a strong technical background.
Proven experience in a leadership role (e.g., Team Lead, Senior Systems Administrator, or IT Manager), with demonstrated experience managing and mentoring technical staff.
Strong technical knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs), Microsoft Windows Server, and Active Directory.
Broad experience with Windows and macOS operating systems, hardware, and deployment.
Familiarity with managing cloud environments like Google Workspace.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
On-site presence in the Cairo office is required.
Bonus Points For
Relevant industry certifications, such as ITIL Foundations, PMP, Microsoft (MCP/MCSE), or CompTIA Network+/Security+.
Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Formal experience with IT Asset Management systems and processes.
Experience with automation systems (e.g., BetterCloud, Zapier) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
