The Role
We're looking for a VP of Advertising to lead and scale our advertising business. You'll define the commercial strategy, leverage your extensive industry relationships to open doors with premium advertisers and agencies, and partner closely with leadership to shape our product roadmap. This is a strategic leadership role with significant growth potential as we expand our platform.
This role is based on a hybrid work model, with the expectation of being in-office 2–3 days per week in either our New York City or San Francisco office.
Key Responsibilities
Advertiser & Agency Partnerships
- Leverage your extensive network to secure high-value advertising partnerships across multiple verticals
- Cultivate and activate C-suite and VP-level relationships with brands and agencies
- Open doors to new advertiser categories and premium demand partners
- Build strategic agency relationships that unlock larger budgets and new campaign types
Commercial Strategy & Growth
- Own the P&L and drive sustainable revenue growth for the advertising business
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to expand our advertiser base and campaign offerings
- Make strategic decisions on sales models, pricing approaches, and market positioning
Product Leadership
- Partner with the CEO to shape the product roadmap for our advertising platform
- Translate market needs and advertiser feedback into product requirements
- Drive go-to-market strategy for new advertising products and features
Team Building
- Build and scale a high-performing advertising sales and account management organization
- Establish processes, metrics, and culture that drive results
What You Bring
- 12+ years in advertising sales, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Deep, active network of advertiser and agency relationships with proven ability to open doors and secure new partnerships
- Extensive, active network of advertiser and agency relationships across multiple verticals
- Demonstrated success at ad networks, demand-side commerce media platforms, or similar ad tech companies
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Track record of building and scaling advertising businesses across multiple campaign types and models (direct and programmatic)
The estimated on-target earnings for this role range from $400,000 to $450,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, scope of responsibilities, and overall seniority within the role.
