OpenX is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Vice President of Publisher Development to lead our publisher-facing Account Management teams across EMEA. This high-impact executive will be responsible for driving regional strategy, growing revenue, increasing our omnichannel supply footprint, and breaking into new strategic categories of supply and data.
As a senior leader within the organisation, the Regional Vice President will play a critical role in shaping the future of OpenX’s supply-side vision. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of programmatic advertising, a strategic mindset for account management and customer service, and a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams. This person will maintain executive-level relationships with top-tier publishers, serve as a market-facing representative of OpenX, and identify opportunities that shape our value proposition and market position.
The Regional Vice President will collaborate closely with cross-functional leadership across Publisher Business Development, Buyer Development, DSP Partnerships, Product, Finance, Legal, and HR. This person will report directly to the VP of Publisher Development EMEA, APAC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mid-to-long-term strategy for the publisher business across EMEA, including owning go-to-market, regional revenue targets, and planning headcount.
  • Establish OpenX as a thought leader by maintaining a strong command of key industry topics such as curation, inventory quality, supply path optimisation (SPO), connected TV (CTV), AI applications, and privacy-first solutions.
  • Lead and develop a collaborative, high-performing team across account management within the ad-tech ecosystem, providing strategic direction, clear goals, coaching, and professional development. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and thoughtful execution to drive revenue growth, strengthen publisher relationships, and deliver innovative, data-driven monetisation solutions.
  • Develop a growth strategy for current supply partners and work as a lead function for our Shared Services team.
  • Prospect and close strategic partners in emerging verticals such as retail media, gaming platforms, AI-driven applications, ride-share, and fitness technology.
  • Provide strategic market intelligence to inform OpenX’s product roadmap and go-to-market strategy, ensuring alignment with evolving publisher and buyer needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of your region’s publisher’s strategy, goals, and OpenX’s stack ranking to communicate to Exec and Product
  • Leverage AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer service for publisher partners.
  • Be an expert in the OpenX publisher platform, analytics and reporting tools, and overall product suite
  • Partner closely with buy-side teams to support strategic SPO engagements and pitches, representing OpenX’s supply perspective.
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson for OpenX, representing the company at industry events, panels, and with key stakeholders across the programmatic ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in programmatic sales and operations within ad tech or on the publisher side, with a minimum of 3 years of leading a team.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and leading high-performing account management teams
  • Established relationships with premium publishers
  • Deep technical knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs, DSPs, and publisher ad stacks
  • Strong executive presence with strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with media, panel, and on-stage experience
  • High energy, self-starter mentality with a startup mindset

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • Deep familiarity with ad tech, SSPs, DSPs and the programmatic landscape, as well as with internal org structure at brands, agencies, ATDs and consultancies
  • An expansive network of strategic and transactional decision-makers on the sell side, including Tier 1 Publishers.
  • Well-versed in programmatic audience strategy: CRM, CDP, DMP, 1P+2P+3P data, the future-focused people-based marketing landscape, etc.
  • Programmatic Operations experience
  • Strong executive presence and comfortable presenting to clients of all levels
  • A consultative, partnership-minded sales approach
  • Experience across multiple markets in EMEA, including but not limited to Germany, France, and the UK.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong business judgment
